The Town of Cochrane has announced upcoming changes to waste, recycling, and organics collection schedules. Beginning the week of September 15, 2025, updated routes will take effect across the community.
Residents can view their new collection schedules at cochrane.ca/collection or by using the My Cochrane Collection app, where they can search by home address and sign up for free reminders by email, phone, or app notification. Those already subscribed will automatically receive updates when the new collection days begin.
“The update to collection routes is grounded in data collected through collection truck GPS tracking and cameras,” said Shawn Tooth, Director of Utilities for the Town of Cochrane. “With fully equipped BluPlanet trucks, we have learned more about route times and the neighbourhoods most impacted by missed cart collection. Adjusting our zones will improve efficiency and reliability, while ensuring we’re prepared to meet Cochrane’s future growth.”
The adjustments are based on several months of real-time data gathered by BluPlanet Recycling, Cochrane’s waste collection partner since December 2024. Their advanced technology, including GPS tracking and route analytics, allowed the Town to evaluate current collection routes and identify areas for improvement.
“We encourage everyone to check their schedule in advance,” Tooth added. “Signing up for reminders can help ensure you and your neighbours never miss a pickup day.”
