Footstock ready to hit pavement for 14th time

From hardcore athletes to jolly joggers, Footstock has a little something for everyone.

From hardcore athletes to jolly joggers, Footstock has a little something for everyone.

Set to run June 15-16, the 14th annual event will feature five categories during the race weekend, including a five-kilometre race, a 10-kilometre race, a half marathon, duathlon and a kids triathlon.

The Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLS) will be the start and finish line for each of the races with the exception of the duathlon, which will begin at Big Hill Leisure Pool.

In addition to an individual competing in the duathlon, which sandwiches a 37.7-K bike ride between two runs, teams of two or three are now eligible to register. So, if you’re a strong runner and know a great cyclist — sign up as a team.

All registrants can pick up their race packages and check out the expo from 4 -9 p.m. at the SLS centre June 14. Saturday race participants can pick up their packages from 7 – 8:30 a.m. on June 15. For Sunday’s kids triathlon, registrants can pick up their race packages in the Big Hill Leisure Pool parking lot from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. For more information, check out footstock.ca.
