Six weeks of a community-wide fundraiser came to an end today as the Hearts in Motion fundraiser raised $43,000 for Brielle Thomson and her family.

A fundraising finale event was held at the Cochrane Toyota dealership on June 14 were the community gathered to give one final push to a money raising effort that began in earnest in early May. Going into the final hour of the fundraiser, the community had raised close to $36,000, many of which came from several different fundraisers organized over the last several weeks.

Dan Kroffat, a prolific community fundraiser who had worked to help raise funds for Brielle Thomson and her mother Michelle Aguilar, announced that an anonymous donor had donated the final $8,000 needed to get the fundraiser over its finish line. The money will go towards purchasing a state-of-the-art Trexo walking device for Brielle Thomson. Her mother, Michelle Aguilar, and the rest of her family were on hand to celebrate the occasion.
