Shed your jackets for a good cause.
Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) will be accepting winter wear including gently used and clean or new winter jackets, boots, hats, mitts, scarves for all ages and sizes from baby/toddler years to children and teens, and adults.
Organizers said they typically have a higher demand for children’s wear than they are able to meet – donations of children’s wear is encouraged.
In addition to accepting winter wear, organizers will also be accepting Halloween costumes for a costume exchange during the event.
People can drop off donations for the next two weeks at Safeway, Cochrane Early Learning Centre, Bow Valley Credit Union, the Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane and Area, the Parent Link Centre, and Cochrane’s Family & Community Support Services.
The Jacket Racket will take place on Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bow Valley Baptist Church, located at 54 W. Aarsby Rd. For more information contact organizers at 403-851-2250.
