Mayor Jeff Genung and members of the volunteer committee for the Mayor's Invitational Golf Tournament were at the Cochrane FCSS offices on July 29 to hand off a cheque for $122,895 to Big Hill Haven.

For the fifth consecutive year the Mayor's Invitational Golf Tournament has been held to raise money for worthy causes in Cochrane. This year's tournament, held on July 21 and featured about 150 golfers, raised over $120,000, a near $20,000 increase over last year's total.

"Big Hill Haven have been great partners to work with," the Mayor said in his press conference remarks at the cheque presentation. "They are an easy organization to support."

In the five years that the Invitational Golf Tournament has been held, it has raised nearly half a million dollars.
