Moose pair spotted near Cochrane RancheHouse

Two moose were spotted in Cochrane this morning (April 12) prompting the Town to issue a cautionary post on its Facebook page.

A pair of moose were on the loose in Cochrane today. 

The Town of Cochrane issued a Facebook post this morning to inform residents that two moose were spotted in the Cochrane Ranche.

"If you are traveling through the Ranche, please proceed with caution," stated the muncipality's social media post.

The Alberta Environment and Parks website states that moose are not typically aggressive animals, but can be if provoked into an attack. Provocation can occur when a moose is stressed, or seeking to protect its young.

"Always keep your distance from any wildlife, even if they appear calm or friendly," the Town's Facebook post concluded.
