It’s not often that a business opens up in the nearby community of Morley that isn’t band-run.

But after a long waiting period and renovation delays, Curtis Clarke is the proud owner/operator of the Ozada Flats Bottle Depot, located in a white quonset west of Morley, along the Trans-Canada Highway, which opened last week.

“A lot of people are relieved we’re finally opened,” said Clarke, who is open Tuesday through Friday from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

He is hoping that between the community of Morley and the traffic along the highway (especially campers) that his family-owned and operated business will expand and create more employment opportunities for others in the First Nations community.

Clarke specified that people not bring crushed cans or out of province containers; the collection and recycling from the facility is managed by the Beverage Container Management Board (BCMB) of Alberta.
