Cochrane RCMP have charged a Morley man with manslaughter.
Gavin Bearhead, 30, of Morley has been charged with one count of manslaughter. The investigation started on Jan. 22 at approximately 5:25 a.m. when Cochrane RCMP responded to a call of a Stoney Nakoda First Nation man in distress.
RCMP and EMS pronounced 28-year-old Wilfred Junior Amos deceased at the scene. An autopsy was held on Jan. 24 at the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office that determined Amos’ death was a homicide.
Bearhead was charged on Jan. 27 by Cochrane RCMP, with assistance from RCMP Major Crimes Unit – South (MCU). Bearhead has been remanded into custody and his next appearance in provincial court is scheduled for Feb. 2 in Cochrane.
