Year 27 is shaping up just fine for the annual Cochrane Light Up, where the downtown core of Cochrane will be aglow in seasonal splendour on Nov. 24.

From 5-7 p.m., the streets are certain to shimmer, decked out with Christmas cheer and decor.

Local businesses looking to pitch in can still sponsor a Main Street fire pot.

“We currently have four pots left (there are 12 in total),” said event chair, Shana Bruder. “Fire-pot sponsors give out the hot dogs and hot chocolate during the event and the cost to sponsor a pot is $250.”

Bruder said the Light Up committee is made up of six individuals who donate their time every year to ensure that Light Up is a local favourite.

“What the Light Up committee really needs are individuals to sit on the planning committee,” said Bruder. “We are looking for a new chair for next year, so anyone looking to give back and help with the organization of this event can contact me.”

Bruder is encouraging all families to come down and share their Christmas spirit; contact [email protected] for more.
