In anticipation of a possible Canada Post labour disruption, the Town of Cochrane proactively mailed property tax bills to all residents on May 15, two weeks ahead of schedule. The move aims to ensure timely delivery and minimize the risk of delays affecting residents’ ability to access and pay their bills.

Originally slated for mailing on May 30, the advanced distribution supports residents in receiving this essential Town-issued document well in advance of the June 30, 2025 payment deadline.

To further ease the process and reduce reliance on postal services, the Town offers a variety of convenient, mail-free payment options:

Payment Methods:

  • Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP)
Monthly automatic withdrawals from a personal chequing account on the 15th of each month. Apply online: www.cochrane.ca/tipp
  • Online Banking
Available through all major banks and credit unions. Select "Cochrane – Property Tax" under bill payments and use your roll number as the account number.
  • Drop Box Payments
Secure drop boxes are located outside:
    • The Cochrane RancheHouse (101 RancheHouse Rd)
    • Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) at 202 2nd Ave W
These are accessible outside of regular business hours.
  • In Person or By Mail
    Pay at:
    • The RancheHouse (101 RancheHouse Rd)
    • The Station (360 Railway St.)
Mail payments must be postmarked by June 30 to avoid penalties applied on July 1.

Please note: Credit cards and e-transfers are not accepted for property tax payments.

Residents enrolled in paperless billing received their tax notices via email starting May 20. As a reminder, utility bills were last mailed May 7, with the next billing scheduled for June 9.

To avoid delays and interruptions in communication, the Town encourages all residents to sign up for digital billing. Those who register for eBilling will be automatically entered to win a $100 gift card.
