For many travel enthusiasts, no destination bucket-list is complete without a trip to the continent of Africa. However, a journey to any of the African countries is a hefty commitment, both in time and money. But what if there was a way for Africa-curious travellers to get their fix in without having to leave their own town?

Cochrane’s Route 22 Artist Collective and Gallery is offering a way.

The distance between Cochrane and the East African country of Tanzania is vast, about 14,000 kilometres, much longer than any length of travel Cochranites will have to take to get to the Route 22 Gallery downtown. That is where the Artist Collective will be hosting a special ‘Journey Through Culture, Wildlife, and Connection’ presentation with adventure photographer and collective member, Tony Trott.

Trott, a member of the Route 22 collective who recently returned from a three week trip in Tanzania, will be sharing trip highlights at the Route 22 Gallery on June 27 at 7:00 pm. His presentation will feature powerful imagery, insights into the unique Tanzanian culture, and personal stories from the heart of East Africa.

“This is a unique opportunity to explore the beauty and complexity of travel, connection, and the human experience–through the lens of one passionate traveller,” Route 22 shared in a post to its Facebook page.

Anyone interested in attending Trott’s Tanzanian Adventure presentation is advised to register at a Route 22 Eventbrite. Admission is for people 15 and up.
