Provincial government announces tender for K-9 school in Cochrane

COCHRANE— The provincial government announced Tuesday (April 14) that a Cochrane K-9 Catholic school will begin construction in the fall.

The press release stated that the government will be moving forward with tender packages for the design and construction of five schools in the province, including a K-9 school in Cochrane.

Construction is expected to begin in September 2020 and occupancy is set for September 2022.

Proposals are requested by April 30 and the selection of tender will take place over the summer.

"Accelerating these five new school projects is an important part of Alberta’s plan to stimulate our economy," Minister of Education Adriana LaGrange said. "These new schools will provide our children with modern places to learn that will lay the foundation for their futures while also getting Albertans back to work.”
