The SLS Centre is hosting a community event for the sixth annual Green Shirt Day for Organ Donor Awareness and Registration on April 7.

This campaign, inspired by Logan Boulet and his family after the Humboldt Broncos bus crash on April 6, 2018. Green Shirt Day honours all the victims and families of the fatal crash. It recognizes Boulet and carries on his legacy to inspire more Canadians to register as organ and tissue donors.

In partnership with Green Shirt Day 202, the SLS Centre will host free drop-in, family friendly road hockey at their parking lot from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In the event of weather change, the event will move inside to the SLS Centre Fieldhouse.

Everyone is invited to bring their road hockey gear and play. In addition, there will be draw prizes, including some items donated by the Calgary Flames.

Personnel will also be available on-site to discuss the organ donation registry and help anyone with the electronic sign up.

At night, the Jack Tennant Bridge will be lit green to recognize Green Shirt Day and the Logan Boulet Effect.

Neighbourhoods can show their support by turning their porchlights on, with green bulbs if they have them, and setting out a hockey stick in support of the player and families of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos Tragedy.
