Expect to see more cancellations and postponements of events set to take place around Cochrane due to COVID-19.

Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area along with the Cochrane Activettes came to the conclusion to postpone the spring Food Drive for Cochrane and Western Rocky View.

"We certainly still want to support the Food Bank in every capacity," said Matthew Hagel, executive director of Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area. "People obviously want to do food donations and or cash donations which help them buy food but we won't be running the sorting event and collection on April 25 at this point unless there's major changes."

Based on the current situation, the Food Bank has seen a rise in numbers of those in need. If you would like to help, food donations can be made to any local grocery store around Cochrane. Cash/credit donations can also be made to the Food Bank through the Activettes website at www.cochraneactivettes.com/cochrane-food-bank. Bins continue to be regularly collected and delivered to the Food Bank by dedicated volunteers.

The Food Drive was to be held on Saturday, April 25.
