Sundre RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating a death in Mountain View County.
At Approximately 12:17 pm on January 25, 2024, Sundre RCMP were dispatched to a report of a man that had been shot northwest of Sundre. Officers attended and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Life saving efforts were attempted at the scene and the male was transported to local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has assumed carriage of the investigation and is treating the death as suspicious.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place at the Calgary Medical Examiners office on January 26, 2024. An update will be provided when results of the autopsy are known.
