Cochrane RCMP are looking to the public for help locating a suspect who attempted to break into a residence on Oct. 12.
Notifying police over a two-way alarm system, the homeowner contacted the RCMP at approximately 1:15 p.m., indicating that they had been upstairs when they heard someone at the back door.
Running downstairs, they observed a male trying to enter through the back, who fled northbound from the residence once he was spotted.
Cochrane police along with RCMP Police Dog Services searched the home and area with no success locating the male.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, between the ages of 30-35 with black hair.
At the time of the attempted break and enter, he was wearing a black hat, jean jacket and black sweat pants with white running shoes.
