COCHRANE— A fire ban has been authorized in the Town of Cochrane effective at 1 p.m. Monday (April 27).
A press release from the town announced that all outstanding burning permits are suspended until further notice.
The fire ban was implemented because of the extreme fire danger in the area due to the dry and windy conditions.
During the fire ban no campfires, burning of wood products or charcoal briquettes are allowed.
Gas or propane powers stove or barbeques and portable propane fire pits are allowed.
The ban will be in effect until the Fire Chief’s office deems is it is safe to remove.
