There will be two new faces on Rocky View County council for the next four years.
Division 2 candidate Jerry Arshinoff was elected Oct. 21 with 562 votes and Division 9 candidate Bruce Kendall is now a member of council with 387 votes.
Incumbents Division 1 councillor Liz Breakey (525 votes), Division 3 councillor Margaret Bahcheli (704 votes), Division 4 councillor Rolly Ashdown and reeve (734 votes), Division 5 councillor Earl Solberg (448 votes), Division 6 councillor Greg Boehlke (350 votes), Division 7 councillor Lois Habberfield (355 votes), and Division 8 councillor Al Sacuta (739 votes) were also voted in.
Members of council will elect the reeve and deputy reeve for the next four years Oct. 29 in Rocky View County chambers.
Many of the races were very close with Ashdown beating out candidate Gerard A. Lucyshyn by only 37 votes and Habberfield topping candidate Stirling Vance by only 25 votes.
Rocky View Schools trustees unofficial results are as follows: Ward 1: Norma Lang, Ward 2: Bev LaPeare, Ward 3: Todd Brand and Sylvia Eggerer, Ward 4: Helen Clease, Ward 5: Colleen Munro, Ward 6: Fiona Gilbert.
Voter turnout for the Rocky View County election was 8,914. Voter turnout in 2010 was 7,769.
