Registration for the 14th annual Cochrane Outhouse Races is filling up fast, but there is still some room for local organizations to sign up.

The second TreeZen EDM (electronic dance music) festival will be happening again this year and will feature local talent. The event will take place Aug. 29 at Frank Wills Memorial Hall in Cochrane. It will begin at 7 p.m. and run until around 11 p.m.

The sixth annual Backpack Program organized by Cochrane Family Community and Support Services (FCSS) is back to provide backpacks and school supplies to assist children in need. Annemarie Tocher is the coordinator at the Resource Centre.

Victoria is known as a hub for music on the West Coast and one of its latest exports is musician Jessica Benini. Although not originally from the B.C.

The second annual Canadian Tire Jumpstart Games will be taking place in Cochrane Aug. 27. All kids from the Cochrane area between the ages of 4 – 13 are invited to come and play in multi-sport games at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

The first annual ‘Show Your Ride For Brandon’ show and shine event is set to take place Aug. 24 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 2222 18th Ave N.E., Calgary (the Crossroads Furniture Market parking lot).
