The long-awaited installation of traffic lights in Bragg Creek has come to fruition.

"I think we’re all reaching our limit on what COVID has done to our lives. We’re craving stuff to do, and craving things that get us back out there and doing stuff and just enjoying things again. Things like this really fill some of that void when there are a lot of other things we can’t do right now. It is very important for everyone’s morale and emotional state."

“There’s a number of different reasons why the doctors in that clinic said they are leaving. Some of them literally don’t like government, and literally beyond that with COVID we know that family physicians on the fee for services model are challenged,” Notley said.

“We heard from stakeholders that the virtual school environment works well for some families and the board felt it was important to ensure an online learning option was available beyond this pandemic heavy year.”

Restrictions will be eased as more Albertans get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, with a complete reopening expected for early July.

Fish and Wildlife are investigating what appears to be a fatal bear attack at a residence near Water Valley.

“Everyone has been touched by cancer,” Chyka said. “Cancer the disease gets most of the attention, support programs like this which are as important for people to survive the disease process don’t get the same sort of spotlight.”
