The UCP government will no longer balance the budget in its first term and aims to bring its deficit down to $8 billion by 2023-24.

What's happening in Cochrane this week: The Cochrane and Area Humane Society is in need for toy and food donations for dogs, the Town of Cochrane is hosting a virtual job fair, and the Tim Bannister Memorial Rink has closed to the public due to the spell of warm weather.

The Town of Cochrane had a reported 10 active cases of the virus as of the end of the day Tuesday (Feb. 22). To date the town has identified 325 cases of COVID-19, this includes 313 people who have recovered and two people who have died.

“It was fun and it was interesting because the day before school had shut down due to the cold,” Fredstrom said. “They [the students] were pretty gun-ho.”

“They definitely don’t come along very often, these moments.”
