“All of these protocols and procedures have been put in place to create a safe environment,” Williams said. “We believe that if everybody does their part we’ll be fine and people will have a great summer.”

“It will be kind of nice to take a break from the pressure of evaluations and teams and being a slave to the schedule of the league and just have a fun soccer season with your friends, kick around, play,” Said Rhonda Carr, programming coordinator with Cochrane Minor Soccer. “That’s what we’re really hoping the season will be.”

For the first time in Alberta's history, a First Nation is asking for the removal of a historic designation citing the McDougall Church's "painful history," but the province is unclear on where that request sits
