Three members of the Cochrane High Cobras football team have been selected to represent their province on the U17 Team Alberta, made up of players born in 2002.

The Town of Cochrane will be well represented at the 2018 Alberta Summer Games, as many athletes will take their talents to a bigger stage including 10 local football stars who will be suiting up for Zone 2.

Former Cochrane High Cobras star and current University of Regina Rams wide receiver Kyle Moortgat has been selected to participate for Team West in the 2018 U Sports Valero East-West Bowl, which will be hosted by University of Laval on May 12.

Cochrane BMX will be hosting an open track from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 3 for BMX Day in Alberta. BMX Day in Alberta is a one-day event, celebrating the beloved sport of BMX around the Province.

The Cochrane High Cobras boys soccer team began their Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) season with a pair of games on May 1 and 3. In the first game, the Cobras travelled to Monkland Park in Airdrie to take on the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers.

The Town of Cochrane has a new group of ballers in town and they are certainly shooting the lights out on the competition.

The three Rockyview lacrosse teams were busy on the weekend of May 5 and 6 as the junior Silvertips, Rage and lady Silvertips all had league games.

Trinity Taekwon-Do has had a very successful 2017-18 campaign, highlighted by a good showing at the Western Canadian Championships April 20 and 21 in Regina. "I was quite happy with how the (Western Canadian) Championships went.

The St. Timothy High School Thunder boys soccer team started their Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA) season on April 30 when they took on the Lord Beaverbrook Lords.

Greg Wilson of Cochrane represented Canada at the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia, from April 4 to 15 when he competed nationally for Canada in lawn bowls.
