A new U16 AA team in the South Central Alberta Hockey League will give players with no alternatives a place to play and develop.

Cochrane's golf courses are seeing a record-breaking year in terms of players on the course.

“It’s nice to offer that chance to those that consider riding to be a big part of their summer,” said Adam Ross, president of Cochrane BMX.

The Cochrane Crush Little League baseball team has earned themselves a little redemption following the team's second loss of this season last Saturday (July 25).

“They’re a really good group of kids that way. They hold each other accountable, and they understand what they need to do better.”

The Bow Valley Rugby Club has announced the cancellation of the 2020 season; is looking forward to 2021.

Cochrane Crush won back-to-back games on Saturday (July 18).

The Alberta Government is expected to make an announcement on Wednesday (July 15) about whether or not the province is ready to enter Stage Three of the reopening plan.

“We built it so that it’s accessible and rideable for little kids on strider bikes, to pro-level BMX riders,” Jerold Hoshowatiuk, Bike Cochrane Society.

“They often times don’t get the recognition from the association and the kids, because most of the work that they do is in the background. It was really just wanting to highlight all of that because they are every bit as important as every head coach, or assistant coach, or board member," said Pierre Landry, President, Cochrane Minor Hockey Association.
