Cyril Marshall died recently. That may not have huge impact on many of you, but he was a true war hero and a long-time member of the Cochrane Legion. And he was a character and a great guy to know.

Sustainability is ours to share. At the Cochrane Environmental Action Committee annual general meeting, scheduled for Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., those in attendance will have a chance to hear from Paul Cabaj of Spark Energy.

Every person, business and visitor in Cochrane plays a part in implementing the Cochrane Sustainability Plan. The plan includes a seven step framework for implementation that can be utilized by anyone who wants to take part.

For openers, this is not to take sides on any issue that has been flooding the news wires, newspapers, radio and television of late. But it is an ironic look at how we in Canada do things these days.
