Being a member of Town Council has certainly been interesting and busy over the past ten weeks as we deal with the new reality we all find ourselves in.

Mountaineer Martin (aged 64) and grandson Nanatuk Nathan (aged 10) are climbing Mount Everest, 200 stairs per day. They left Base Camp (17,600 feet) on April 14th and hope to reach the summit of Everest (29,029 feet) on July 17th.

I was driving home enjoying the beautiful scenery when I came upon Two Rivers Ranch and Stoney Medicine Lodge. This sprawling ranch which was purchased by the Stoney Nation decades ago sits in ruins.

In addition to the UCP’s attacks on our provincial parks, this week the AB government rescinded a decades old ban on open pit coal mines.

A new provincial funding model is challenge to supporting education in the province.

Many of our readers have been responding with ways in which arts and crafts have served them uplifting Cups of Light during the coronavirus pandemic.

As business begin to reopen it is up to all of us to respect health protocols and treat each other with kindness.
