Due to improving conditions, Rocky View County (RVC) Fire Services has lifted the Fire Advisory for West Rocky View County, which is the entire region west of Highway 2.

Effective immediately, there are no fire advisories or bans in the West region of the County, and permit burning is allowed.

While the Fire Advisory has been lifted in West RVC, the County said the Fire Advisory for East RVC remains in effect.

"We will continue to monitor conditions and fire risk throughout the County and may update the status as needed," the county wrote on Facebook.

Fire permits will not be issued for any fires in the East region of the County.

Although conditions have changed with the recent precipitation, the County ask for the public’s continued assistance in remaining vigilant when burning under what restrictions allow.

If conditions change, the County will continue to assess the fire risk and may impose a fire ban at any time," they said.
