The Cochrane RCMP announced today that it has charged Timothy Bailey, a former Springbank Community High School teacher, with child luring, sexual exploitation and making explicit material available to a young person.

Bailey, a 49-year-old man from Calgary, was arrested in January of this year after an RCMP investigation that was initiated by a complaint about inappropriate behaviour conducted by Bailey from a female student.

Bailey was a teacher at Springbank Community High School at the time of his arrest in January, but is no longer a teacher with Rocky View Schools.

Over the last several months since the arrest the RCMP have conducted an investigation with the Southern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit, and on July 8, Bailey was formally charged with accessing child pornography and possessing child pornography.

This news comes on the heels of another Rocky View Schools teacher charged with a different slew of offences.

Earlier Wednesday, the Airdrie RCMP charged Rodney Reisner, a former teacher at W.G. Murdoch in Crossfield, with eight counts of sexual assault and eight counts of sexual exploitation.
