The fire began at approximately 3:40 p.m. and quickly grew in size to approximately 1.5 hectares.

RCMP and County Peace Officers managed traffic which caused some interruptions for commuters on Saturday night.
The fire was fully extinguished by 10:30 p.m. and one bush buggy remained on site overnight to monitor for hot spots.
"We extend our sincere thanks to the public for quickly reporting the fire and giving emergency crews space to operate safely," Rocky View County shared on Facebook. "We also thank our partner agencies for their professional and effective response."
A total of 14 apparatuses were involved in the response.
