Rocky View County under fire ban

The ban will remain in effect for as long as high-risk conditions remain.
Okotoks fire crews had a house fire under control within half an hour on Friday night.
Fire services has updated a previously issued fire advisory to a fire ban for all of Rocky View County

Fire Services has issued a fire ban for all of Rocky View County effective immediately. The ban will remain in effect for as long as high-risk conditions remain. During a fire ban, all burning and firework permits are suspended, and burning is banned with select exceptions:

-Indoor household fire places

-Properly attended camp stoves

-Barbecues, including propane or natural gas, charcoal briquettes

-Wood pellet grills

-Propane or natural gas fire pits

Oil well flaring is also exempted, but registration is required.
