Big Hill Haven Emergency Women’s Shelter is asking the community to donate used cellphones that will be distributed to its clientele, the organization announced on Facebook on Monday (July 6).

“All of these protocols and procedures have been put in place to create a safe environment,” Williams said. “We believe that if everybody does their part we’ll be fine and people will have a great summer.”

“It will be kind of nice to take a break from the pressure of evaluations and teams and being a slave to the schedule of the league and just have a fun soccer season with your friends, kick around, play,” Said Rhonda Carr, programming coordinator with Cochrane Minor Soccer. “That’s what we’re really hoping the season will be.”

The Association of Mexicans in Calgary, a group that works to support migrant workers and advocates for migrant justice in Alberta, will be visiting a farm in Southern Alberta on Sunday (July 5).

“Our school is traditionally very strong in athletics, and this year was no exception, even with COVID. We’re talked about around the province as a smaller school, but with a very strong, powerful program and we’re going to keep going at that, and those kids are the reason why,” Robbie McNab, Cobra’s Head Coach, Cochrane High School.

“We’re doing all that we can to keep our patrons and our staff as safe as possible during this era of COVID."

“After the 100 days that we’ve gone through, I really appreciate how we as a community have been kind, we’ve been patient, and we’ve been responsive and responsible to COVID."
