In a sign that back-to-school season is officially underway and to help families prepare for the new school year, Rocky View Schools (RVS) is hosting its annual My First Ride, an in-person event for new schoolbus riders presented by RVS bus contractors, later this month.

“I hope my opponents will remember our fight,” Peacock said. “I don’t plan on giving them an easy winner or anything like that – I’m going to go as hard as I can.”

The deadline to submit an application is Sept. 29. All applicants, except for the Assessment Review Board, must be residents of Rocky View County.

“We are all drawn to this area for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. It is also a really important area for water supply for everyone downstream, for the flora and fauna that makes the region so special,” she said. “We want to keep the Eastern Slopes in good shape not just for us here right now, but for many generations to come."

Last year’s boundary reconfiguration was a result of Alberta’s growing population, which resulted in the need for three additional ridings.

The government press release notes that enroling in AgriStability may open doors that provide producers access to additional credit options, such as the federal Advanced Payments Program, which offers low-cost cash advances.

Ama’hna’bino, or 'they are taking me home,' brings the spirits of loved ones who lost their lives in the city and elsewhere home to rest. The walk departed on July 31 and arrived back in Mînî Thnî on Thursday, Aug. 3.

“It’s such a pleasure to bring our event [to Cochrane]. And having grown up in the Cochrane area myself, it’s great to bring something to the community, and to share and bring a fun, safe event for everyone,” Dalidowicz said.

It was a whirlwind August long weekend for Cochrane rugby player Taia Graham, who was competing for Alberta at the 2023 U16 Western Canadian Championships.

“This is a really great opportunity for Albertans, or anyone in Alberta, to come to visit a farm and see how products are made in the province.”
