Rocky View County officials and students from Calgary's Bishop McNally High School conducted the annual No Stone Left Alone pre-Remembrance Day ceremony on Nov. 7 at the Garden of Peace Cemery. 

To honour the fallen and those who serve to protect Canada, The Royal Canadian Legion, Men of Vision Branch No. 15, of Cochrane will host a Remembrance Day celebration on Nov. 11 at the Cochrane Cenotaph at 10:40 a.m.

More than one-third into the 2022-23 Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) regular season, the Cochrane Generals inflicted the first loss of the campaign on the dominant Okotoks Carstars Bisons Nov. 5.

When asked how he felt when he learned he'd be receiving a Quilt of Valour, Walford said he was happy and gracious – and also surprised. 

"The regular-season games are one thing, but when it comes to playoffs, people are hungry. They want that championship trophy in their hallway, and they want those T-shirts.

Billed alternately as an ‘Indigenous support circle,’ or ‘Reconciliation Learning Circle’ the meeting took place Nov. 2 at the Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery in Cochrane.

“Everybody should have an opportunity to come and see the area and just get the feeling that the community provides for its visitors,” Perraton said. “I think [Bragg Creek] is one of the most beautiful areas I’ve ever worked in.”

The PEDIGREE Foundation has announced it’s expanding into Canada to launch its first-ever Canadian Grant Program to support to eight animal shelters, including the Cochrane & Area Humane Society (CAHS).

“Honestly, it’s been difficult to practice away from our home field during the construction process,” Knitter admitted. “But we’re excited to bring football back to Cochrane High School. It’s something we’re looking forward to, whenever it happens.”

Their first competitive win in Tier I out of the way, Cochrane will now advance to the provincial quarterfinals. They'll host the Henry Wisewood Warriors next week, either on Friday or Saturday.
