ON HOLD FOR NOW

The fourth annual Memorial Color Run set to take over Mitford Park On June 21 has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Vaughn Sawchuk Foundation was created in memory of Vaughn Sawchuk who fought and died from a rare heart defect. Although the race will not run when anticipated, Cochranites are encouraged to continuously check-in at the vaughnsawchukfoundation.com/ for updates. A potential race may happen sometime in September if provincial health measures are lifted.

SAFETY INSPECTION GO VIRTUAL

The Town of Cochrane has announced safety code inspections are moving online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new system allows projects to comply with provincial codes and Town services to continue without interruption during the pandemic. It typically takes 10 days for building applications to be processed.  Town Safety Code Officers perform more than 5,000 inspections each year. Current public health measures require physical distancing so Town Safety Codes Officers will visit virtualy to ensure there are no delays in building, electrical, gas and plumbing works inspections. The new virtual process uses real-time video connections with those who require an inspection. The new system was tested in early March and officially implemented on March 17.
