The River Heights Community Association is offering a chance for residents to get rid of unwanted ‘stuff’, promote their business or sell their product for a cause.
On July 19, the association is setting up a community garage sale and vendor market in the Bow Valley High School parking lot.
The aim is to allow residents to rent a centralized space for $10 ($20 for non-members) while keeping shoppers away from private residences. Goodwill Industries will be on hand to remove items that don’t sell.
Funds raised during the event will help cover the cost of activities run by the association.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a home owner and need to clean out your basement, sell Avon or run a photography studio out of your spare bedroom,” said Kate Hewko, organizer with the event.
Setup begins at 9 a.m. with the sale beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until 2 p.m., with takedown to be completed by 3 p.m.
If the weather looks poor, the date will move to July 26 and all participants will be notified.
Snacks will be available for purchase on site.
