With the water shortages impacting Cochranites around town, grocery stores are prepared for the influx of residents who are purchasing water as the town declares a State of Local Emergency due to an ongoing water shortage in town.

Supervisor of Mark’s No Frills, Karen Nordquist, said local shoppers have already started buying up what they can in the community.

“We sold out in probably two hours yesterday,” she said. “And Mark brought in a semi full of water, the 24 packs.”

With many shops in the community ready for the influx of residents buying clean drinking water, Nordquist assures locals that at No Frills, they have enough water for all customers, at the lowest price in town.

“There is water to buy,” she said. “There is water to buy and we won’t be running out anytime soon.”
