Cochrane Fire Services continued their busy week the morning of Feb. 23, responding to a house fire in the Bow Meadows community.
The blaze was located outside of the dwelling, along the backside of the home’s garage, in the compost bin.
“It’s not uncommon that compost piles start to burn,” said fire chief Mac deBeaudrap
“There was no obvious smoke showing, but flames were starting to catch on the garage’s siding.”
Local fire crews arrived on scene and quickly put out any signs of fire.
deBeaudrap said that other than minor damage to the siding, the rest of the dwelling and property was fine.
