Both directions of traffic have reopened on Highway 22 following a serious three-vehicle collision on Monday afternoon. The accident had rendered Highway 22 near Township Road 250 impassable in both northbound and southbound directions for over an hour.
Highway 22 has been cleared and is again open for motor traffic.
Four people were left injured by the incident. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. Two of the four people were transported to a Calgary hospital.
While the RCMP were on scene at the above collision, a second three-vehicle collision occurred within 100 metres of the first collision. Two of the three occupants involved in this collision – each in separate vehicles – were transported to a Calgary hospital with undetermined, nonlife-threatening injuries.
Traffic was rerouted onto Twp Rd 252 to the Jumping Pound Road for Highway 1 access.
