Council will hear presentations from Cochrane Rotary's Alex Baum, Bighill Creek Preservation Society's Greg Beitz and Town interim director of development services Mike Korman at the upcoming April 19 Committee of the Whole meeting

Rotary Club of Cochrane member Alex Baum is set to make a presentation to council about the trail, which will soon be named after the Trail Steering Committee selects one of the 1,300 submissions collected through the Name the Trail contest.

Gerry Bietz, president of the Bighill Creek Preservation Society will also provide an update on the society's efforts to protect creek drainage at Big Hill Springs. A status update regarding the gravel mines they believe will put the park and creek at risk will be part of Beitz's presentation.

Among some of the programs planned are computer programming classes run by the Cochrane Public Library and a business mentorship program run by Cochrane Tourism.
