“It’s not just the older veterans, but we have a lot of young veterans that need help,” Bigelow said. “They come back and they have trouble adjusting or they come back with PTSD and other medical issues, and we need to open up for them and many other ways.”

In a sign that back-to-school season is officially underway and to help families prepare for the new school year, Rocky View Schools (RVS) is hosting its annual My First Ride, an in-person event for new schoolbus riders presented by RVS bus contractors, later this month.

“I hope my opponents will remember our fight,” Peacock said. “I don’t plan on giving them an easy winner or anything like that – I’m going to go as hard as I can.”

The deadline to submit an application is Sept. 29. All applicants, except for the Assessment Review Board, must be residents of Rocky View County.
