Cochrane Fire Services wrapped up their six-week “Be Summer Safe” safety campaign on Aug. 29. The campaign launched in July, emphasizing the importance of being summer safe.

In an exciting twist of fate, the Grizzlies and Bears will meet again on the pitch at the Calgary Rugby Union for a tiebreaker to determine which bruins crew reigns supreme.

Cochrane’s public transit users celebrated the launch of a transit service integration between Cochrane On-Demand Local Transit (COLT) and SOUTHLAND’s enhanced regional On-It service on Aug. 29.

The local junior B team announced the game's cancellation on social media on Tuesday.

“Three black bears have died here in the last six weeks, all of them because of human interaction,” Klepacki said. “That’s on us.”

“Anyone that is able to volunteer their time or donate to the food drive, will be making a huge difference in our community, especially right now,” Baird said.

People congregated to Historic Downtown for the Cochrane Outhouse Races Aug. 28.

“I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all the people from Cochrane and the surrounding area, for everything,” he said.

Though they may not have been content with their overall performance, the Cochrane High School Cobras football team began their 2022 Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) season the same way they ended the last six – with a win.
