“Never leave a fire unattended,” Avery said. “Same as in the forest, you would never go camping and leave a fire that's still burning. It's the same rule in your backyard. If you decide it's time to go to bed, you're not going to leave that fire burning.” 

A delay in the supply of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine will leave some Albertans waiting a little longer to get vaccinated.

There were a reported 33 active cases of COVID-19 as of the end of the day Sunday (March 28) in Cochrane. To date, 406 cases have been reported in the town— Two people have died and 371 people have recovered.

Municipal elections across Alberta will take place on Monday, Oct. 18. Alberta School Board Trustee elections will take place in tandem with the municipal election. Municipal election and board of trustees' candidates were able to begin submitting nominations on Jan. 1. Nominations close on Sept. 20.

“Personally, it’s been challenging, but because I’ve got a great team around me, we’re able to get through it together,” Luterbach said. “There are all these different facets to how we support schools and how we support students— I'm proud just to be one of the members on that team."

“We have such a tight window of opportunity to get everything in in the spring. If you don’t get it in early enough you aren’t going to get any harvest or you’re not going to get any blossoms by the time we get adverse weather in the fall. But equally, if you start too early, you’re going to get that damage early on."

A single female resident of the house was able to escape unharmed.
