What's happening in Cochrane this week: The Town is hosting a virtual speaker series to address grief in the pandemic, the Kiwanis Club of Cochrane and Area is looking for volunteers and MP Blake Richards wants to hear your opinion on Canada's budget.

Cochrane RCMP lay multiple charges against a suspect following a string of crimes in the Cochrane area.

The Town of Cochrane reported 48 active cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. To date 292 cases have been identified, 243 people have recovered and one person has died.

“There probably has never been a more stressful time for responders, for police in this circumstance, and responders,” Wagman said. “There’s never been a time where we have had COVID and has something so tragic and have not been able to come together.”

During the provincial COVID-19 update Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw reported the COVID-related deaths of 38 people. The Town of Cochrane saw a decline in reported COVID-19 cases dropping to 49 active cases.
