“They’re resilient they’re working really, really hard to stay afloat in these times,” Korman said. “They have a sense of optimism they’ll make it through.”

The Town of Cochrane had a reported 38 active cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday (Jan. 19). To date the town has had 306 cases of the virus— Two people have died and 266 people have recovered.

STONEY NAKODA— Cochrane RCMP responded to reports of an alleged firearms threat and potential house fire in Stoney Nakoda Nation on Wednesday (Jan. 20) morning. RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said the detachment received a call at 8:30 a.m.

The number of active COVID-19 cases was 209 at Stoney Nakoda First Nations in Morley on Monday.

The Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee hosted its first-ever annual general meeting on Monday (Jan. 11), during which members of the board recapped the successes of 2020, and outlined plans for 2021.

As of Monday (Jan. 118), there were a reported 38 cases of the virus in Cochrane. To date, 302 cases have been reported in the town. A total of 263 people have recovered and one person has died.

“Our focus is on doing what’s right for the residents and taxpayers of our communities,” Derricott said. “We have their best interests at heart and we’re constantly working to improve all the parts of the community that they interact with.”

Bethany Care resident Norma Burt will celebrate her 100th birthday on Jan. 22.

As of Sunday (Jan. 17), there were a reported 44 cases of the virus in Cochrane. To date, 301 cases have been identified in the town. A total of 256 people have recovered and one person has died.
