In Cochrane, there were a reported 20 active cases of the virus on Tuesday (Jan. 26). To date, there have been 313 COVID cases reported in the town— Two people have died and 291 people have recovered.

"Health is really a state of complete physical, mental and social wellness and wellbeing. It's not merely the absence of mental illness," Dittrick said. "Mental health is really about the way that we are in the world ... The way that we feel, the way that we think, the way that we act, the way that we cope— Our mental health isn't fixed."

“It’s important that we’re keeping this moving quickly, this can’t sit idly, we want to build on momentum,” Wagman said. “It’s important we want to get this, not just nicely useable, we want it to feel warm so it's a real treat [and escape] for some of the horrible, horrible things we’ve had to see.”

As of Monday (Jan. 24), there are 24 active cases of COVID-19 in Cochrane. To date, 313 cases have been reported— Two people have died and 287 people have fully recovered.

“It brightened a really dim corner and just brought some life back into the community,” Begg said. “I’m really proud of everything that they’ve accomplished.”

"One of the things that we heard loud and clear is that people are experiencing loss and huge amounts of grief in a whole variety of different ways. It’s not just about losing a loved one necessarily, it’s about losing freedoms, connection, social supports.”

“We see the need growing here in the community,” Nicolle said. “A lot of times we don’t see homelessness being an issue in Cochrane or people going hungry— But, it is a concern in the community.”
