Athletes from the Town of Cochrane had a superb showing at the 2020 Alberta Winter Olympics that ranged from Feb. 14 to 17 in Airdrie.

The Mountain View Junior Rodeo Club held a full day rodeo at the Bearspaw Rodeo Centre, just west of Cochrane on Feb. 22.

"I was speechless. I couldn't get a word out of my mouth," Oakey said. "It had been such a far fetched dream for some long so when I made it I didn't know how to react."

"The next few weeks are going to a ton of fun. I can't wait to leave it all out there and just soak it all in with my teammates."

"I think we've got to get our feet moving and finish hits to gain some energy going as we had in Game 1. We did that and played our game (in the first game) and it got the boys going and we were relentless out there. We just got to find a way to get the energy going so we can play our game."

In other words, this should be a close series, as it has been between the two teams all season long.

"The fans definitely bring a lot of energy that we aren't used to, so playing at the Saddledome in front of your university, makes it so much more meaningful. Our games against the University of Calgary are always so intense but the Saddledome game always seems a bit more important."

"We've had an amazing year so far and it's awesome to see all the boys hard work pay off."

"This year was our second-highest ever. The number of volunteers was incredible ... I sometimes had a hard time finding things for them to do just because we had so many of them and they were so eager to help which was awesome."

"I started this business (Trinity Taekwon-Do) in 2004 and he's my first, true, real black belt that I've produced. So it's a big milestone for him, myself and the entire club. It was special to do it together as well."
