The Cochrane Super Seniors Bonspiel took place Nov. 22 to 25 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, with a record of 160 participants.

The Cochrane High Cobras football team won their fourth straight Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) Tier three provincial championship after a 21-14 victory over the Holy Rosary Raiders on Nov. 24 in Lacombe.

The Cochrane Generals are slowly chipping away at the Southern Division leading Okotoks Bisons after back-to-back wins on Nov. 24 and 25 to boost their record to 11-8 on the season.

The Cochrane Cobras senior girls volleyball team took silver at the provincial championships in Strathmore last weekend.

St. Timothy Thunder cross-country star Josh Novak earned some valuable experience at the Cross Country National Championships in Kingston, Ont., on Nov. 24 and 25.

The Cochrane Generals Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type season continued on Nov. 17 and 18, where they lost against the Stettler Lightning 7-2, but came back the following night and defeated the league leading Airdrie Techmation Thunder 5-2.

Hockey Alberta has named their coaches for the hockey squads competing in the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, with Carla MacLeod coaching the Under-18 Female team, and Serge Lajoie as head coach of the Under-16 Male team.

All four Cochrane High school volleyball teams had a very successful Zone Championships at various locations across Alberta during Nov. 17 and 18. The Cobras junior boys team won the South Central Zones on Nov. 18 when defeating W.H.
