The Cochrane Chaos women’s junior hockey team is on a hot streak. The team has won four of their last five games, and currently sits second in the league with an 8-3 record behind the 11-1 Central Alberta Amazons.

Former St. Timothy Thunder cross-country star Sophia Nowicki placed third at the College National Cross Country Championships with an unofficial time of 22:01 in the six-kilometer race in Blainville, Que., on Nov. 11.

The first-ranked Cochrane Cobras football team has advanced to the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) Provincial Tier Three South Regional Finals after defeating the eighth-ranked Brooks Buffalos 30-0 on Nov. 11 in Brooks.

It was a very successful season for Cochrane high school volleyball, as all four of the Cobra teams won medals as well as one Bow Valley during the Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) Divisional Championships that took place on Nov. 8.

Cochrane steer wrestlers Straws, Baillie and Tanner Milan hit the dirt with mixed results at the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) from Nov. 8 through Nov. 12 at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton. The trio got off to a rough start on Nov.

While the Cochrane Generals only sit one game above .500 with a record of 8-7, they have potentially turned a corner on their Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) season. The team had a pair of road games on Nov. 8 and Nov.

After closing out the month of October with a win against the Coaldale Copperheads to put an end to their four game losing streak, the Cochrane Generals kicked off November with a pair of wins to push their win streak to three games.

Representing Team Alberta, Darwin Orsler of Bragg Creek won the U17 title at the National Canadian Cyclocross Championships on Oct. 27 and 28 in Sherbrooke, Que.

Cochrane product and Airdrie CFR Chemicals AAA Midget Bisons defenceman Tyrel Bauer got his first taste of Western Hockey League (WHL) action when he suited up for the Seattle Thunderbirds in their 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Nov. 2.

The Cochrane Bantam Lions football washed away a disappointing regular season and managed to bring home the Calgary Bantam Football Association (CBFA) Division 3 title after defeating the Calgary Bantam Colts 48-30 in the final game.
