Coun. Crystal Kissel's motion for the relatively new Rocky View County council to take a fresh look at the future for the Ag Society lands was met with support at the July 10 council meeting.

Some Cochrane and District Ag Society members are pushing for members and users of the facility to advocate for the county to stop the recreational lands from a potential future sale.

Rocky View County unofficial election results are in, where eight out of nine county divisions will see a switch in representation as only one incumbent seeking re-election was successful.

Judi Hunter will be the voice of Rocky View Schools in Bearspaw, Bragg Creek, Springbank and rural Cochrane after being elected Ward 5 trustee.

Rocky View County Coun. Bruce Kendall will face at least one opponent, as he seeks re-election Oct. 16 for a second term as representative of division nine.
