Ms. Hawkwood’s response to recent letters illustrates how ill informed Canadians are regarding the carbon tax. To place the blame for emissions on the oil and gas industries is a simplification.

I can assure the Cochrane Eagle that I won't write anymore of my letters allowing myself to have these sarcastic remarks hurled at me, by my fellow seniors, but hope it's been a good learning curve for the young people.

I sincerely hope Nielle Hawkwood’s warning on the dangers of Fracking is taken seriously by those who read her article. It is important to bring these concerns closer to home, indeed in our own backyards.

I would like to respond to two letters recently appearing in the Cochrane Eagle, regarding environment, climate change and the carbon tax: Tom Harris’ letter, July 5 edition, and L. Leugner’s letter, July 12 edition.

Alan Spiller wants us to believe that carbon taxes will solve all environmental problems.

Riverview’s hopes in this public engagement were that with comprehensive research and a focus on high-priority issues we could be a catalyst for real improvement in the Greystone ASP and NP.

Dear Mayor, Council, Police, Municipal Enforcement and Town Administration, In October of 2017, I had the opportunity to address the previous Town Council about a growing scourge in our Cochrane neighbourhoods: loud vehicles breaking the law.

So, you get what you get and are not allowed to choose some personal attributes you receive, good or bad, by genetics. Well, I got something that I would not wish for myself or even my best enemy, let alone my worst. I’m not whining, just saying.
